History in the making: Kimi Raikkonen, man of few words and fearsome speed, starts the defense of his long awaited world title this weekend. It will be no walk in the park for the Iceman as the Finn will find teammate, Felipe Massa, and 2007 rookie sensation, Lewis Hamilton, equally strong and determined as they both won four races each last season. May the best man win.

Remembering Regga: The photo shows Italian speaking Swiss driver Gianclaudio "Clay" Regazzoni. He was European Formula 2 Champion in 1970 and same year scored his first Grand Prix victory at Monza in a Ferrari. He  won the inaugural Long Beach Grand Prix in 1976 and gave Frank Williams his first Formula 1 win at Silverstone in 1979. Regazzoni was killed in a road accident in December 2006 near Parma, Italy.

Sebastien Loeb’s Mexican Hat Dance: Citroen driver took his third consecutive victory in Mexico past weekend. He is now only one point behind Mikko Hirvonen in the championship. Aussie Chris Atkinson was second in his Subaru. Ford teammates from Finland, Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen, were third and fourth respectively

Brendon Hartley-The Flying Kiwi. Hailing from Palmerston North in New Zealand, Hartley is a Red Bull charger who is steaming ahead in his racing career. The 18-year old is one of the early favorites in the 2008 British F3 series. Born and raised in a racing family, Brendon won the New Zealand Formula Ford festival at the age of 13. He was Formula Renault Euro Cup champion in 2007.

The island nation has been waiting for a Grand Prix winner since the opening round of the 1974 season in Argentina, when Denny Hulme scored his final win. It won’t be too long before Brendon breaks into Formula 1.
