Motorsport Mondial Presentation

Rollover Raikkonen. The 2007 Formula One World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, made his WRC debut on home soil in Rally Finland. Driving an Abarth Grande Punto Raikkonen was running third among the Super 2000 cars when he rolled out on Saturday.

Victory went to another Finn, Mikko Hirvonen, in a Ford Focus. Third win in a row puts the Ford Focus driver three points ahead of Citroen’s defending world champion Sebastien Loeb who finished second. Another Finn, Jari-Matti Latvala was third in his Ford Focus.

Sunday Scoreboard & Sundries

Oschersleben. Timo Scheider wins the DTM race while Jules Bianchi wins the F3 Euro series race on Saturday and Christian Vietoris is victorious on Sunday.

Portimao. In beautiful Algarve, Portugal, World Series by Renault winners were Jon Lancaster and Jaime Alguersuari. The Le Mans series event was won by Pescarolo Sport drivers Jean-Christophe Boullion and Christophe Tinseau.

Sparta. Kentucky rain washed out qualifying but a thrilling Saturday night finish saw Ryan Briscoe edge out Ed Carpenter to win for Team Penske. Wade Cunningham won the Indy Lights race.

Snetterton. Winners in the BTCC (British Touring Cars Championship) were:
Fabrizio Giovanardi in race one and two for Vauxhall. James Nash won the third race of the weekend in his Chevrolet.

Sandown. Will Davison wins race one of the Australian V8 series in his Holden Commodore. Fellow Holden driver Garth Tander took victory in the second race. Ford Falcon driver Jamie Whincup was third and retains championship lead.

Sauber. Peter Sauber has stated he will do what he can to save the Swiss F1 operations of the team he founded and later sold to BMW, who announced their withdrawal last week.

Massa. Flying home to Brazil on Monday. Ferrari will release his first post-accident interview same day.

Schumacher. Drove 70 laps in a 2007 F1 Ferrari at Mugello in preparation for his grand arrival in Valencia as replacement for Massa. The seven time world champion visited his ex-teammate in a Budapest hospital over the weekend.


Nelson Piquet has been released by Renault F1.

Williams and Red Bull to vote against Schumacher F60 test.
