Spa from the sky: Located in the Ardennes forest of Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps is one of the greatest racing tracks of the world. Fast and challenging, with daunting Eau Rouge as the main attraction for both drivers and fans, it is no wonder legends like Clark, Senna and Schumacher won here multiple times. Raikkonen has raced to victory in the last three Belgian Grands Prix.

Dan Gurney's Eagle flew in the forest in 1967 for a historic win. The late Phil Hill took the win here for Ferrari on his way to the 1961 World Championhship.
The first Grand Prix at Spa, the European in 1925, was won by Antonio Ascari in the Vittorio Jano designed Alfa Romeo P2. The now famous Spa 24 hours race was inaugurated in 1924.
The Spa 1000km sports car race in 1985 claimed the life of young rising German star Stefan Bellof.

Lewis Hamilton takes pole at Spa!
Felipe Massa along side with Heikki third.
Kimi manages fourth and Quick Nick P5.

Dan Wheldon. Franchitti--Wee Bit Better: Dan may well be on his way to owning more pair of shoes than Imelda Marcos (please visit his website for exact count) but he is definitely walking out of Chip Ganassi Racing at the end of this season. The English Indy 500 and series champion of 2005 is headed back to the team where he made his Indy Car racing debut, Panther Racing. Dan has done well racing in the United States, after winning the Formula Ford 2000 series in 1999 in his first season of racing on this side of the pond, he was runner-up in the Toyota Atlantic series in 2000 and followed up with another second place finish in the 2001 Indy Lights championship.

Dario and his darling, Ashley Judd, are a common sight on race tracks across America. Hailing from the land of Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart, Dario Franchitti raced in British Formula 3 and touring cars in Europe. He made his Indy car debut in 1997. Last season was his banner year in which he captured both the Indy 500 and the series championship. Looking for new pastures he left Andretti Green Racing and joined Chip Ganassi racing with Felix Sabates Nascar operation. He has now come full circle, joining Ganassi’s single seater operation for next season.

Olé Olé Felipe: Ferrari's Felipe Massa put on a masterful performance to win Sunday's inaugural European Grand Prix in the streets of Valencia. Starting from pole position he scored his fourth win of the season to get back in  the title hunt and now trails championship leader Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, who finished second, by only six points. Rober Kubica made his first appearance on the podium in third place since his maiden win for BMW in Montreal.

An engine failure provided a smoke screen for yet another dismal performance from reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen. Local hero Fernando Alonso was out on the opening lap, losing his rear wing courtesy of Kazuki Nakajima. Spa-Francorchamps is the next stop on the Formula 1 circuit.

Felipe Massa takes a great win in Valencia!

Hamilton sails into second place.

Robert Kubica third and Heikki fourth.

Vettel and Bourdais finish as they started.

Kimi with a pit stop disaster and an engine failure.

Viva Valencia: Formula 1 returns to Spain this weekend for the inaugural European Grand Prix in Valencia. The tragic 1975 race in Montjuich Park in Barcelona was the last time Grand Prix cars raced on a street course in Spain. Motor racing started in Europe on public roads and the seaside street circuit in Valencia may be the wave of the future. Street race under the lights in Singapore next month and Abu Dhabi next year may raise the tide even further. Adelaide in Australia, Bremgarten in Switzerland, Casablanca in Morocco, Oporto in Portugal, Reims and Rouen in France and Dallas, Detroit, Long Beach and Phoenix in the United States are among the cities where Formula 1 world championship races have been held on street circuits. Italy was the first country to host two championship rounds in one year, 1957, when Pescara hosted the penultimate round on 15-miles of public roads before the final event of the season at Monza.

Felipe Massa shows his worth with Pole position!
Lewis Hamilton grabs second place.
Kubica with third and Kimi rounding off the second row.
Vettel with fantastic pace during quali gets sixth.
Fernando and Renault fail to get out of Q2!

Slippery when wet: Muy macho hombre de España, Fernando Alonso, man who rocked the boat at McLaren, now sails into Valencia harbor for the inaugural European Grand Prix in the Spanish port city. With an impressive cargo of 49 podium finishes, 19 wins and two world championships Alonso now finds himself drifting on a lonely sea with an uncompetitive hull. Flavio Briatore, Captain of his heart, may have provided him a safe passage with a mediocre mate but the McLaren and Ferrari fleet has left the Renault reeling in their waves. Alonso may jump ship in 2010 but may have to endure another sinking feeling next season.

Motorsports Mondial with Nasir.

Tale of two drivers: With high hopes and impressive championship winning credentials in German Formula Ford, Formula 3 and Formula 3000, Nick Heidfeld arrived in Formula 1 in 2000 with Peugeot-powered Prost team. Sauber was his next destination in 2001 and three years with the Swiss team yielded only one podium finish. After a fruitless season in 2004 with Jordan he moved to then BMW-powered Williams team for 2005, scoring the only pole position of his career so far at Nurburgring in the European Grand Prix. The man from Monchengladbach was back at Sauber when BMW bought the Hinwil based team from Peter Sauber. In 2007 Heidfeld made two podium appearances and finished fifth in the championship. This season Heidfeld has been on the hot seat and outshined by his Polish teammate Robert Kubica who gave the team their maiden win in Montreal.

Kimi Raikonnen, the Espoo Express, arrived in Formula 1 ahead of schedule with only 23 races under his belt. Rising up to the challenge, he scored a point on his Grand Prix debut in 2001 in land down under. The Ice Man was then picked up by McLaren and scored his first Formula 1 victory in the searing heat at Sepang in the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix. He scored a dramatic last lap win over Giancarlo Fisichella in the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka after starting from the back of the grid. In 2007, in his first year with Ferrari he staged another dramatic comeback to overcome a 26 points deficit to win the world title in the final race of the season in Brazil. Low in vocabulary and high on party, Kimi Raikkonen is an amazing racing talent but definitely one with his own agenda.

Heikki High: Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix belonged to Ferrari's Felipe Massa but victory went to Finland's Heikki Kovalainen in his McLaren, who becomes the 100th. driver to win a Formula 1 race. The Brazilian shot into the lead from the second row at the start and never looked back, till a rare engine failure three laps from the end robbed him of a certain win and lead in the world championship.

The pole-sitting McLaren of Lewis Hamilton suffered a puncture taking last year's winner out of contention. He fought back to finish fifth and retain his championship lead. German Timo Glock enjoyed 'oh, what a felling' as he made his first podium appearance by finishing second in his Toyota.

Kimi Raikkonen, hungry for a win since April's Spanish Grand Prix, was third and is now only five points behind Hamilton in the championship. Massa is still a serious title contender as he trails his teammate by only three points. In the constructors' championship Ferrari is 11 points ahead of McLaren.

Round 12 of 18 is the European Grand Prix on the new street circuit in Valencia, Spain, on August 24th.

Hungaroring: Sunday's Formula 1 event in Budapest is round 11 in the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship. The Magyar Grand Prix has featured some memorable Hungarian dances over the years. The inaugural event in 1986 saw an unbelievable slipping and sliding pass on the outside by Nelson Piquet over arch rival and fellow Brazilian countryman Ayrton Senna. In 1989 Senna again had to settle for second place after a brilliant lightning quick move by Nigel Mansell to grab the lead and win in a Ferrari after starting from the sixth row. Fernando Alonso scored his maiden win here in 2003, lapping Michael Schumacher on his way to victory. The long dry winless spell for Jenson Button was over in the wet 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix.

And it was in the 2007 race that the Hungarian rhapsody developed a sour note in the McLaren band. Shenanigans orchestrated by both the drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, was the beginning of the end of their world championship hopes, and time for the hombre from Oviedo was over in Ron's den in Woking.

UK Used Car - Used Cars

Reign and Shine: Lewis Hamilton’s back to back wins, in the rain on home ground at Silverstone, and Sunday’s German Grand Prix at Hockenheimring, has put the new Swiss resident at the top of the world championship. His eighth, and fourth of the season, career win came in dominant fashion despite a pit-lane blunder by the McLaren team when they elected not to bring him into the pits during a safety car period. Nelson Piquet Jr. was a lucky and jubilant second for Renault on a track where his father made his Formula 1 debut in 1978. Felipe Massa salvaged third for Ferrari and is now second in the championship, four points behind Hamilton. The F1 circus now moves to the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 3rd.
