Dan Wheldon. Franchitti–Wee Bit Better: Dan may well be on his way to owning more pair of shoes than Imelda Marcos (please visit his website for exact count) but he is definitely walking out of Chip Ganassi Racing at the end of this season. The English Indy 500 and series champion of 2005 is headed back to the team where he made his Indy Car racing debut, Panther Racing. Dan has done well racing in the United States, after winning the Formula Ford 2000 series in 1999 in his first season of racing on this side of the pond, he was runner-up in the Toyota Atlantic series in 2000 and followed up with another second place finish in the 2001 Indy Lights championship.

Dario and his darling, Ashley Judd, are a common sight on race tracks across America. Hailing from the land of Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart, Dario Franchitti raced in British Formula 3 and touring cars in Europe. He made his Indy car debut in 1997. Last season was his banner year in which he captured both the Indy 500 and the series championship. Looking for new pastures he left Andretti Green Racing and joined Chip Ganassi racing with Felix Sabates Nascar operation. He has now come full circle, joining Ganassi’s single seater operation for next season.
