Motown. Racing in the street. The never ending search for a home for the US Grand Prix descended upon Detroit but failed to deliver Hitsville. The record shows city hosted Formula 1 races from 1982-’88. The inaugural Detroit Grand Prix in 1983 was won by Michele Alboreto for Tyrrell, final victory for English lumber merchant Ken. Top performers here included Keke Rosberg, the ’85 winner for Williams; Ayrton Senna won three in a row from 1986-’88.

The record shows city hosted Formula 1 races from 1982-’88.
