Ocean wants to be king of the mountain

The Portuguese team is looking to score points on the Nürburgring

Ocean Racing Technology is tackling the 6th meeting of the GP2 Main Series season with the hopes of turning the competitiveness it has demonstrated in the past several races into points. Johnny Cecotto Jr just barely missed out on the points at Silverstone and the Venezuelan driver is determined to forget his mistake by aiming for the top 8 on Germany’s Nürburgring circuit. “I want to put Silverstone far behind me and I think we have the means to secure some good results on the Nürburgring,” Johnny Cecotto Jr declared. “Our only failing is that we have not been able to turn our competitiveness into points on the finish line, but the pace is there and the crew is working perfectly well. Tyre performance will be critical but I know that regardless of the circumstances, we can run two good races.”

Ocean Racing Technology is happy to have Kevin Mirocha back to race at home this weekend. At Silverstone, a shoulder injury forced the young German driver to forfeit. “I hope that my shoulder will be healed enough so I can drive at my best level in front of my fans. It’s the first circuit on the calendar that I know well and so I hope the weekend will be productive,” Kevin Mirocha declared, “I really like the Nürburgring. It’s a beautiful track, and fast. But the weather is always an unknown here and that could make the races interesting.”

The Nürburgring races will be broadcast on Eurosport, Saturday, July 23 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 p.m.
