Gian Carlo Minardi: “ With the Misano race rankings will be defined”

This week end the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit will host the fourth round of two important Italian Championships such as the ACI CSAI Formula Abarth and the Italian F3 European Series. Just one month after the Series has come to Italy , the very young drivers will fight again behind the wheel  of the Tatuus FA, Dallara and Mygale for F3.

After 3 races a leader is yet to emerge, so this means that the two Championships are well balanced and hard-won and the level of drivers and teams, together with their strategies and tyre consumption have deeply influenced final results: “ Misano Adriatico will represent the rounding of the mark and, starting from this weekend  we will see the two Championships’ standings taking shape. Till now they’ve been so hard-fought. Three races a weekend is a right format to make scoring more balanced and to  allow teams to set their strategies on tyres consumption” analyzes Gian Carlo Minardi, “each weekend only two tyre sets are available and teams have to manage them at best for both qualifying and races. This makes final results always so unpredictable. At this moment, the two standings are so short and a leader is yet to emerge. This is a proof of the high level of our Championships, despite they are affected by the difficult global economic situation” says the manager from Faenza .

The Championships’ high level is also confirmed by F3, where young drivers coming from Fromula ACI CSAI Abarth have been able to get out, fighting on equal terms against more experienced drivers. This means that it’s a training Formula for all those drivers who want to take their first step into the world of open wheels. We have also to give credit to the car TATUUS has designed for CSAI. The car is difficult to drive and requires many regulations.”

With the defeat of Italy in the final match of European Championship, the Italian coach Prandelli has sent an important message: taking care of young people’s growth.  This is an issue sportsmen are trying to solve to foster Italian young people’s entrance into the world of Formula 1. “ Unfortunately one of the sectors which is usually more penalized by economic crisis is Sport. In this sense, motorsport young people are the first to suffer the consequences of that, because economic resources are decisive in this domain. Our country is plenty of talented young people, so economic resources are necessary to make them grow.
