REFLECTIONS DURING THE SUMMER BREAK FROM THE HARRY TINCKNELL RACING TEAM

As we hit the summer break and the sun does its best to break through, we’ve taken some time to reflect on the season so far. It’s been a thrilling few months with Harry Tincknell currently in sixth place in the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series.

How the season began

Following a highly competitive maiden season in the 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series, Harry Tincknell set his sights on the 2012 title with reigning champions Carlin Motorsport.  “I’m very excited to be joining Carlin,” said Harry. “I can’t wait to hit the ground running when we go testing with the new cars shortly.”

First wins

Harry then took his first victory of the season when the F3 Series visited Rockingham, /Northamptonshire, on 9-10 June 2012. Having earned second place on the grid for the sprint race, Harry went from strength to strength, leapfrogging pole-sitter Nick McBride to take the lead at turn one. Determined Harry Tincknell maintained first place for the remainder of the 20-minute race, keeping team-mate Pietro Fantin at bay to take his maiden triumph of 2012 and the second F3 win of his career.

“I’ve been working really hard to improve my starts,” commented Harry. “I’m delighted that it’s paid off. I knew when race two started I just had to get in front by the first corner and that’s exactly what happened. It worked perfectly.”

Further top spots

Harry then secured further podium finishes of the season when the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series visited Brands Hatch, Kent, for rounds 12-14 on 23-24 June 2012. And again atGermany’sNorisring streetcircuit before heading to a further podium top spot at Snetterton in the last race weekend before the summer break.

Next rounds

All of the team are now gearing up for Silverstone before the final rounds atDoningtonPark, both in September.
