Robin Miller. F1 Weekly podcast # 557 proudly features our conversation with Mister Miller. The voice of Indy Car racing has rattled quite a few cages over the years – breaking stories from AJ Allmendinger bailing out from single-seater racing to NASCAR nation to Tony George getting the boot from his sisters.
Miller is from the Hoosier state and raced himself before landing a job at Indianapolis Star where he worked for over three decades. He is the authority on American single-seater racing, and is not afraid to express his opinion or share the result of his ‘investigative’ journalism.
In this conversation Miller shares stories from a life dedicated to Indy Car racing. From Tom Sneva ‘stealing’ a school bus in Mexico City to taking a Frenchman and Swede to Mug N Bun in Indianapolis.
Renault will race at the European Grand Prix after winning appeal.
The court upheld Renault’s appeal and instead issued a reprimand and imposed a $50,000 fine.
Sims Card: British rookie driver Alexander Sims scores his maiden F3 Euroseries victory in Sunday’s race two at Nürburgring. Winner from Saturday’s race one, Jules Bianchi, was fifth and maintains 25 points lead in the championship over Christian Vietoris who was second to Sims in Sunday’s race. Jake Rosenzweig, only American in the series, finished 16th & 12th respectively in the two races.
The ART of winning: French ART Grand Prix team dominated Saturday’s F3 Euro Series feature race at Nürburgring. Leading their charge from pole position and scoring his fifth consecutive feature race victory was Jules Bianchi. The young Frenchman is flanked by yet another Flying Finn, Valtteri Bottas, who finished second and was 2008 Formula Renault Euro Cup Champion. Esteban Gutierrez, extreme right in the photo, was third after starting from the front row. The talented Mexican was Formula BMW Europe Champion last year.
Bianchi is managed by Nicolas Todt who also co-owns ART Grand Prix team with Frederic Vasseur. Lewis Hamilton graduated from their GP2 team to Formula 1 and last year Nico Hülkenberg drove for them on his way to winning the Euro Series title.
