Podcast 274–Totally Tambay

F1weekly is pleased to present an exclusive in-depth conversation with Patrick Tambay. The French driver took two important and emotional victories for Scuderia Ferrari, at Hockenheimring in 1982, where his teammate and compatriot Didier Pironi suffered his career-ending leg injuries. And Imola 1983. He also drove for McLaren and Renault. Tambay calls America ‘an important part of my life’, he came to this country on a skiing scholarship and won the Can Am championship twice. Currently he is in public service in the south of France and guiding the career of his son, Adrien, who won both the opening races of Formula BMW Europe in Barcelona where this interview was conducted.
